Find The Right Cushioning For Your Corrugated Box

Equally important to choosing the correct corrugated box is choosing the correct cushion and void fill inside the box including packing peanuts, kraft paper, foam, paper cushioning and air pillows.

Why Do I Need Cushoning & Void Fill?

When shipping an item in a box you will generally need some type of void fill, to fill the spaces between your item and the box. Packing peanuts are great inexpensive choice, and they are very effective in protecting fragile contents from breaking during shipping. Greeno Supply also sells bio-based peanuts which are usually made from corn/potato starch and dissolve easily in water. Anti-static packing peanuts and foam is also available.

What is Void Fill Ideal For?

A more environmentally friendly choice for void fill is kraft paper, or bogus paper. These papers come in rolls or sheets. Kraft and Bogus papers can keep a light weight item in place in a box, but it is not recommended to use these papers if the item in the box is heavy. If your operation uses a lot of paper void fill it is recommended to use an automated system like the PapersPlus™ system by Storopack, or the Packmaster™ system by Pregis. Both systems use single or multilayer paper which goes through an automated machine, creating a paper cushion which can be used as void fill and cushioning.

What Foam Packaging Solutions Are Available?

Generally speaking, there are two different types of foam packaging solutions: rigid and flexible. Greeno Supply offers custom solutions in both types. We stock Industrial foam rolls in 1/2”, 1/4”, 1/8” and 1/16” in thickness. These rolls are custom slit and perforated for our customers in many ways depending on their needs and application.
