A Clean Facility: Get Rid of Excess Chemicals

A large educational facility recently asked us if we had a dilution control system that could simplify their cleaning chemical use. This customer’s biggest challenge was using five different cleaning chemical concentrates in their dilution control system. They had to keep changing out the five refills in their 2-refill dispenser which led to user fatigue and the possibility of incorrect cleaning chemicals being used.

Other challenges included:

1. Ordering confusion- too many SKUS to keep track of
2. Training confusion- A multi-lingual staff oftentimes made training difficult
3. Complying with Massachusetts backflow regulations
4. Storage issues-storing 5 different cleaning chemicals took up too much space

The Greeno Solution: Enviro Solutions Dilution Control System

Our solution was to use the new Enviro Solutions dilution control system by Charlotte Products. The dispenser is sturdy, lockable, and can hold up to 4 bottles. This dual system replaced the 5-cleaning chemical with ONLY TWO cleaning chemicals which can be used for glass, general cleaning, carpet spotting, soap scum, disinfecting, mopping floors without dulling, carpet extraction, auto-scrubbing, niche cleaning applications like ink & marker removal and cleaning of red wine, juice spots, and blood stains.

Two Chemicals to Clean EVERYTHING

The two recommended cleaning chemicals are the ES72, a Hydrogen Peroxide Multi-Purpose Cleaner, and ES64, a Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner.

ES72 is a wide-range general purpose cleaner that, when diluted, becomes light, medium, and heavy-duty surface cleaners. ES72 makes a light duty cleaner (blue) that is good for glass, plastic, laminates, trim, walls and partitions. It is also effective in mopping, auto-scrubbing & carpet extraction. ES72 medium duty cleaner (green) is good for hand cleaning of porcelain, stainless, chrome, desks, counters and carpet pre-treat for traffic areas. The ES72 heavy duty cleaner (orange) is good for the toughest removal of soap scum & some hard water stains. Will remove most ink & marker from walls & desks. For carpets, it is effective for removing red wine, juice spots and blood stains easily.

ES64 is a no rinse, no NPE, phosphate-free, non-alkaline, neutral pH cleaner, disinfectant & deodorizer. Use on doors, walls, toilet bowls, urinals and other hard nonporous surfaces, such as sinks, tables and countertops made of stainless steel, metal, glazed ceramic tile, and porcelain. ES64 meets Health Canada emerging viral pathogen claims for SARS-COV-2 and has a light floral scent.

Easy to Understand System Makes Training a Breeze

The Enviro Solutions system connects the dots when training cleaning staff because each cleaning chemical is part of a color-coding system. Like many facility managers, our customer had challenges with training and communication issues because the staff is multi-lingual. The color-coded Enviro Solutions dilution control system is easy to understand and use.

When choosing a cleaning chemical from the station, the users see a dial with four color-coded options. The bottles, spray triggers and pop-tops are color coded. Just match up the bottle, the spray trigger or pop-top, and turn the dial to the matching color and fill the spray bottle. For example, glass and surface cleaner is blue. Pick up the blue silk screen bottle, the blue trigger, turn the dial to blue and fill up the spray bottle. The color-coding can work in conjunction with a facilities’ microfiber program too.

The Enviro Solutions system comes with a color-coded wall chart that is designed to hang near the dilution control dispenser. This chart comes in both English and Spanish, and the color coding makes dispensing easy to understand.
