Sandy Cassanelli managed the travel department at World Wrestling Entertainment which included event planning, overseeing travel for 300 people per week, and management of private charters; as an entrepreneur, Sandy started a successful coffee shop called "Coffee And" when she was only 20 years old.
Greenough Packaging & Maintenance Supplies, Inc., (Greeno Supply) a leading regional distributor of shipping, safety, break room, janitorial, cleaning and facility maintenance supplies was recently certified as a Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise by the State of Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office of the Commonwealth's Operational Services Division (OSD).
The OSD's standard of certification is a rigorous process that includes an in-depth review of the business as well as a site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm that the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
Greenough became a woman-owned business when controlling interest in the company was acquired by Sandy Cassanelli in 2004. As the majority shareholder and CEO of Greenough, Sandy provides strategic direction to the organization and oversees Operations, Accounting, and Human Resources. “I am delighted that Greenough has been certified as a woman-owned business enterprise," says Cassanelli.
By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
