Like the old saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So how do you keep dirt, debris, and moisture outside where it belongs?
The 3-Mat System
The 3-Mat system is simple, straightforward, and saves tons of money in the long run. You place one mat outdoors at your building’s entrance, a mat inside the entrance, and a third mat further inside. Together, these three mats will keep 80-90% of dirt out of your facility.
The Scraper
The first mat is known as The Scraper. This mat catches large particles of dirt and debris, preventing them from entering your facility. A Scraper mat will capture dirt, gravel, ice melt, snow, ice, small stones, and other larger pieces of ground material.
The Scraper/Wiper
The first indoor mat is a hybrid Scraper/Wiper mat. These mats are able to absorb moisture while also preventing the spread of medium dirt particles. If you think of it like sandpaper, the Scraper/Wiper inside is less coarse than the Scraper mat outside.
The Wiper
The system finishes with an indoor Wiper mat. This mat removes any fine or lingering dirt the first two mats may have missed and provides the walker with a second opportunity to dry the soles of their shoes.
We Had to See to Believe
Simple enough, right? But can something so straightforward really be that effective? At Greeno Supply, to believe the hype we needed to see the 3-Mat System in action. The results were fast and obvious to recognize. The outdoor mat collected an enormous amount of dirt, the scraper/wiper mat inside was particularly successful as a “water hog,” preventing rain, ice, and snow from getting into our floors and carpets. And the final wiping mat was so effective at collecting dust we were able to cut back on vacuuming.
